Introducing Image Sounds

Image Sounds have long been one our favorite sample pack producers at Loot Audio. The scale and quality of the content they provide in each pack is staggering so we decided to speak to Marc at Image Sounds and discover more about his brand and sounds.

Tell us how you got into the business of making sample libraries...

In early 2000 I met the owner of Ueberschall who was interested in working with me. At that time I was working exclusively as a producer with Artist worldwide. I found the idea of creating my own libraries super exciting. So I created my first Hip Hop Sampling Library "Hip Hop Underground" After that followed about 90 other sampling libraries, which I distributed in cooperation with Ueberschall.
In 2018 a powerful team was formed around me. That was the time when I decided to distribute sampling libraries myself under the brand "Image Sounds". We have been in the music industry for over 30 years and have access to a network of the best musicians worldwide. We have the ambition to bring extremely high quality to our sampling products. Tell us a little about your recording techniques and the people you work with...

Our studios are located in the legendary studio complex "Time Tools“ in Hannover, Germany . Several companies are located in the house, which are exclusively engaged in music production. Among others the software company Zynaptiq. It is like a concentrated power of knowledge in one spot. We have a philosophy. For every recording session we work with musicians or engineers who have a special core competence. For rock drums, for example, we record in the legendary Horus Studio with Arne Neurand. Here you get the best drum sound ever. Vocals and solo instruments we like to record directly in our studios. Our recording rooms are sound optimized. That means we always record where it makes the most sense to record the instrument as good as possible.

What is the library you created that you are most proud of?

I must say that I am proud of most of our libraries but when I have to make a decision I think our Reggae Libraries are awesome.

Do you have any interesting plans for the future?

I always have new plans and ideas. We have already recorded 100+ new libraries, which will soon be available on Loot Audio and other distributors. In the future we will focus more on recording rare instruments. We are currently working on our own online store and are planning to create a software that will feature our samples in a more complex way.

With Oriental Percussion 1 we present another release from the Artist Series of Image Sounds.

Oriental Percussion 1 contains bendir, bongo, darbuka, def, zil & holo. With each percussion folder/kit you will get a huge selection of different loops, all of
which work well together or can be used individually. Thus you can select percussion loops for a complete song or just use a sample for your song – all
within seconds. These loops are easy and intuitive to work with, enabling a fast workflow, which, of course, is essential in music production.

Each and every loop contains tempo information. They are pre-mixed and ready to use, with perfect EQ and light compression.

They have been carefully and professionally recorded by proven experts, using top quality studio equipment, with sound optimized and recorded in 24Bit and 44.1 KHz.

Funky Guitar 2 offers 359MB of loops. The tempos are between 90 BPM - 105 BPM. The library contains 19 folders/kits and offers a total of 466 funky guitar loops in many different musical styles.

With each guitar folder/kit you will get a huge selection of different loops, all of which work well together or can be used individually. All loops of a folder/kit
are based on the same harmony pattern and can easily be combined. Thus you can select guitar loops for a complete song or just use a funky sample for your song – all within seconds. These loops are easy and intuitive to work with, enabling a fast workflow, which, of course, is essential in music production.
