The frame drum is the most ancient type of drum, and examples show up all over the world, from the Irish bodhrán to the Middle-Eastern daf to the Japanese uchiwa daiko. They are used in many kinds of music as well as in many rites and rituals. Here we present a deeply and lovingly sampled frame drum for Kontakt.

The Kontakt instrument boasts 8 different strike styles such as edge, centre, muted etc, as two different rim hits. All hits have multiple velocity samples and round-robin alternates, and the samples are 24-bit/96-kHz stereo. It can be tuned to taste using the Kontakt instrument tuning control, but it also responds to midi pitchbend (pitchbend wheel) for "talking drum" effects.

The custom GUI provides controls for the attack, pitch decay, tone, built-in reverb and more.
