NEU-PEV captures the unmistakable tone of early broadcast-era EQs that brought warmth and dimension to countless recordings. It features a low-shelf, a high-shelf, and a mid-band with selectable frequencies—each designed to impart smooth tonal shaping rather than clinical correction. The EQ’s fixed-Q design and musical gain response make it especially effective for adding body to vocals, thickness to guitars, and weight to the mix bus.
Our engineers recreated the original inductors and transformers to achieve the same buttery response that made this EQ a mainstay in mastering and broadcast facilities for decades.
Developed in the early 1960s for broadcast use, the hardware original was built to the highest standards of German engineering, featuring discrete components and precision transformers. Its design later became a reference for mastering-grade equalizers thanks to its smooth frequency curves and minimal phase shift. NEU-PEV revives this iconic tone for the modern studio, maintaining the same warmth and musicality that made it a secret weapon of engineers for decades.
