An Audio Engineer's Dream

The BB Chamber A plugin precisely emulates the renowned reverb chamber from Blackbird Studio A. Recognized globally for its clarity, sheen, and versatility. The reverb chamber within Blackbird's Studio A has played a pivotal role in countless iconic productions. This chamber, meticulously crafted with a movable ceiling, stands out as one of the most legendary reverb chambers ever constructed.

Sonic Depth and Dimension
Select from three distinct microphone options and tailor their placement within the chamber with the power to seamlessly raise or lower the height of the ceiling.

Shape and refine your audio further by choosing your audio source from a Hi-Fi studio monitor, a live PA speaker, or a “direct” input that bypasses the character and tone of a speaker. Then use the pre-delay knob to add a slight delay to your signal before it hits the chamber. On the way out an FX strip awaits, equipped with saturation, filters, EQ, and compression controls.

Capturing an Icon
From the KIT offices at Blackbird Studio, our engineers have worked hand in hand with John McBride and the Blackbird team to model not one, but twelve different 1073's. With John's guidance we were able to take our favorite characteristics from each unit to build the perfect channel.

Building a "Real World" Model
Each 1073 was hand selected from Blackbird's extensive collection, and painstakingly analyzed to ensure every audible detail was accounted for. In the KIT spirit of building "Real World" models, the BB N73 has been designed to sound and function just like the hardware in use at Blackbird. Everything from cables and modifications to age and irregularities have been factored in to the final product.

Authentic analog color
Using our award winning Full Range Modeling Technology, (FRM) our team of engineers developed the BB N73 channel strip to capture the sound and character of the original hardware we all know and love.

FRM allows us to model the full frequency range from 10Hz - 96kHz giving the BB N73 all of the analog depth and color of the original gear.

With its legendary, fully discrete Class-A design, the 1073® preamp provides a classic vintage tone that has been used on countless hit records across many genres. With its meticulously modeled circuitry and authentic vintage character, the BB N73 delivers exceptional clarity and detail, while also adding a touch of subtle harmonic distortion that helps to bring out the true essence of the source material.

The Final Touch
Modeled after the output buss of a Neve® 8058 console, the final stage of the BB N73 offers additional subtle harmonic content and compression to get that weight and punch that’ll make seasoned Neve® users feel right at home. The amount of saturation and compression depends on how hard you drive into it, starting with subtle transient smearing, all the way to utterly squashing your track. This master buss may be all you need to take your mixes to the next level.

Built in the '60s by Motown's engineers to help usher in a new era of music and sound, the Motown EQ is one of the most important pieces of audio equipment ever built. Used on countless number one hits, the original first batch of Motown EQs have since become incredibly rare and collectible, shrouded in almost mythical lore.

We meticulously studied this iconic unit to build the most sonically accurate emulation possible.
