Abbey Road’s original reverb sound wasn’t just about the gorgeously lush chamber itself, but also the warm analog signal chain through which the natural chamber signal passed. For the first time anywhere, all these elements are modeled with historically accurate precision.
For vocals, Abbey Road Chambers adds a rich, snappy tone. For synths, it breathes life and character. Drums hit with power. Electric guitars evoke a full, focused sound. History aside, this plugin delivers a stunning chamber reverb sound. The Dry/Web Mix control allows you to blend in the reverb to taste.
Choose the natural reverb sounds of three famous chambers: Abbey Road’s original Studio Two, the Studios’ Mirror Room and, as a bonus, the Stone Room from London’s Olympic Studios—each with its own distinct natural reverb character.
Abbey Road’s engineers often sent the chamber’s signal to a feedback loop running from the studio’s console, via tape delay, via RS106 and RS127 filters, to the chamber and back. This unique “S.T.E.E.D.” (Send. Tape. Echo. Echo. Delay.) effect is impossible to create in any other way. Abbey Road Chambers packs it into easy-to-use controls, which you can use with the chamber reverb or separately.
Audio was rarely run directly into the reverb. Instead, EMI’s RS106 and 127 high-pass, low-pass, and midrange EQs tailored the sound being reverberated. Abbey Road Chambers meticulously models these specialty Abbey Road EQs.
Great chamber reverb sounds are also about mic choice and placement. Customize your setup—from original valve Neumann KM53 microphones and lo-fi Altec 605 speaker, used on almost every pop recording made at Abbey Road in the ‘60s, to modern mic and full range speaker choices.
