Studio Snares

Studio Snares is a collection of 9 live snare drums totaling 648 unique snare drum hits.

Each snare drum has been recorded with the snare latch closed as well as the snare latch open. Closed latch snare hits will achieve a bright, tight and snappy snare hit. Where as open latch snare hits achieve a fuller, rounder more tom like snare hit.  A wide range of rimshot hits have been recorded in 3 different tuning types (low, mid, high).

OPEN & CLOSED LATCH

Each snare is recorded with both the snare latch opened and closed. Closed snares achieve a bright sharp snare. Whereas open snare hits achieve a rounder more solid punchy tom like sound.

DIFFERENT DRUM STICK TYPES

Two stick types have been recorded for each snare. Wooden sticks achieve a classic snare hit sound found in most recordings. The second stick type recorded is a metal brush, this achieves a looser more slapped snare hit unique in comparison to a drum stick.

DAMPENED & UNDAMPENED HITS

Dampened snare hits achieve a tight punchy snare with very little release on the hit. Undampened hits allow the snare to ring out, achieving a longer release.

12 HITS AROUND THE SNARE

In total 7 dampened snare hits have been recorded, as well as 5 undampened snare hits. Each hit has been recorded in a specific point on the snare drum in order to achieve 12 snare hits that are unique from one another.
