Width

Controls the stereo width of the instrument. Although the harp was recorded in mono, we simulate stereo imaging to provide a wider, more natural sound stage.

Lag

Introduces a delay (0–150 ms) before a note fully triggers.

This feature replicates the realistic re-damping behavior of a harp:

• With the sustain pedal up, release samples play normally when you lift a note.
• With the sustain pedal down, most sampled harps incorrectly allow you to stack multiple strikes of the same note—something physically impossible. On a real harp, a second strike first produces a damping pre-buzz before the new pluck is heard.

The Lag control lets you set how many milliseconds occur between the damping sound and the pluck, recreating this authentic behavior.

Many harp libraries strive for extreme cleanliness, often prioritizing a wide range of articulations and glissandi. While technically impressive, these instruments can sometimes lose the essence of a harp being played by a real human.

In reality, harps are full of subtle imperfections:

• Buzzing strings
• Shoulder joints or clothing brushing against the wood
• Fingers unintentionally damping nearby strings
• Pre-buzz sounds when a string is damped before being plucked again

We chose to embrace these nuances. The result is a harp that feels alive—simple to play, yet capable of achieving a highly realistic, human sound.
