This exquisite jazz upright bass offers five microphone positions, along with a pre-mixed option to accommodate lighter computer usage. Recorded through the Studer A900 analog console and Lynx Aurora 16 A/D converters at 24bit/96kHz, this instrument is meticulously sampled with eight articulations. These include performable repetitions, a variety of percussive hits on different parts of the bass body for extended creative possibilities, and genuine played chords.
MOJO: Upright Bass encompasses over 35 GB of uncompressed sample content. Whether your project demands the genuine feel of human playing for jazz, pop, rockabilly, or any genre where a synthetic sound just won’t do, this instrument delivers. Our goal was to create an standup bass library that fulfills every requirement for composing, programming, and recording incredibly realistic bass lines. With MOJO: Upright Bass, that vision is now a reality.
Instrument Page:
The Instrument page offers both global and articulation-specific controls. Choose from 20 different presets and dive further into the customization of your vibrato, legato controls, chords, and articulations like performance repetitions, hammer-ons and pull-offs, harmonics, and even percussion! You also get tools like a capo, velocity curve control, and humanization.
Performance Page:
The Performance page lets you filter through a huge selection of custom MIDI performances by
category, meter, key, and scale. Styles include Jazz, Blues, Bossa Nova, Latin, Funk, Rockabilly, as well as categories of fills, ends, and percussion. Use these as inspiration to quickly assemble a bass part!
Effects Page:
Choose from a suite of eight different effects including EQ, BP Filter, Saturation, Cabinets, Compressor, Limiter, Reverb, and Delay. Presets are available for all the effects to get you started quickly. Take your sound from a vintage studio to a cool jazz club to a modern concert hall in seconds!
Mixer Page:
The Mixer page includes controls for all five mic positions: neck, body close and far, and stereo room close and far, as well as a full mix option (a pre-mix of all five mic positions for an easier memory load). Each mic can also be routed to its own output. The neck mic provides detailed string sound, the body close mic offers fuller low-end sound, and the body far mic adds room tone. Add room close or room far mics for enhancement.
Settings Page:
Customize the keyboard layout and change how and where the different articulations and release samples are triggered. Articulations can also be combined into a velocity stack to make the instrument even more natural for performances. It has never been easier for an instrument to integrate with your workflow!
