Designed from the ground up by Ocean Way founder Allen Sides, the Nashville studios were built to meet his vision of the ultimate recording, mixing and monitoring space. Supervised and fine-tuned by Allen himself, the Nx Ocean Way plugin is a breakthrough in accurate immersive modeling of this stellar acoustic environment.
Before he even founded Ocean Way Studios, Allen Sides’ monitors had a “speaker-of-the-pros” reputation. Today, they are used in top professional studios—the few that can afford them. Now, you can check your mixes on the state-of-the-art HR5 reference near-fields, or the 4-way, high-resolution, “no limits” HR1 far-fields.
Nx Ocean Way uses the state-of-the-art Harman Headphone Target Curve method to correct EQ response for over 270 studio headphones, including models by Sony, Beyerdynamic, Sennheiser, AKG, Audio Technica, Audeze, Focal, and dozens more brands.
Waves Nx uses channel crosstalk, inter-aural delays (ITD), filters (ILD), early reflections, and head motion tracking to replicate the immersive experience of hearing audio in the real world. All these are coupled with precision measurements of the acoustic response at the physical Ocean Way control rooms, to faithfully deliver the original monitoring experience.
Use the accurate emulation of Ocean Way’s acoustics, or dial in wetter or drier ambience. For personal adjustment of the 3D effect to your head/ear anatomy, enter your personal head measurements into the plugin’s head anatomy calibration section.
For the ultimate in realism, track head motion so that as you move your head, the sound changes as if you were moving your head in the studio. Track with your computer’s camera, or with the Nx Head Tracker for maximum accuracy.
