Mix with classic console sound and a fast, efficient workflow
CLA MixHub is modeled with painstaking care from Chris Lord Alge’s personal 4000-series console—from input through every stage of the dynamics and EQ, to output. You can freely re-order modules within the console flow for further control of your sound.
CLA MixHub also brings you CLA’s efficient console workflow: Mix groups of 8 channels—all in the same plugin window—quickly and in full musical context with each other. You can now move instantly between channels, like on a real console—hearing your tracks playing together, and instantly editing EQ and dynamics on multiple channels.
The Input section not only includes high- and low-pass filtering, but models the line amp in Chris’s console. Dial in light saturation for a sweet edge, or push it even harder with the mic preamp module.
Of course, there’s the 4000-series channel strip’s compressor/limiter, with flexible sidechaining—but that’s not all. MixHub adds a gate/expander and ducker with a ‘hold’ control—“the super-gate,” as Chris calls it—plus your choice between the original console compression and CLA’s 1176 “Bluey” FET-based limiting amplifier.
The workflow of adjusting 4-band EQ in adjacent channels at the same time is a revelation. Two fully parametric stages, and high and low bands switchable between shelf and bell curves, deliver the acclaimed EQ sound of CLA’s console.
To turn CLA MixHub channel strips into one-stop solutions for your tracks—insert any Waves plugin in the MixHub’s ‘insert point.’ Now you can have CLA MixHub functioning as a full mixing chain, complete with reverb, delay, modulation, or any effect you wish to add to the console dynamics and EQ.
