You like to DI bass, as well as mic the bass amp—but when you mix the two together, phase issues thin the sound. Insert InPhase, align the phase, and return the bass to a round, full sound.
The dual displays make it easy to see exactly what’s happening as you shift one signal’s phase compared to a reference. An additional correlation meter shows how much the audio is in or out of phase.
The Phase Shift Curve windows display phase shift compared to frequency. Monitor in mono, then trim the variable allpass filters (two per channel, with shelf or bell responses) to minimize residual phase cancellations.
Some emulations of vintage analog processors, like EQ, have inherent phase shifts. When using them for parallel processing, compensate for these phase issues by inserting InPhase in the channel with the analog-modeled processor.
